Welcome to Edgerton Elementary!
Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Community Members,
We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all families joining us at Edgerton Elementary, where we continually strive to instill excellence and prepare our students to become leaders ready to serve in a global community.
Our school theme this year is "Built to Last," reminding us that the work we do today lays the foundation for future excellence.
Edgerton Elementary is more than just a school; it's a community where every child is inspired to Excel, Lead, and Serve. Our dedicated team remains committed to ensuring each student receives an exceptional educational experience, fostering both academic growth and character development.
This year, we are launching our innovative "Edgerton Edge" leadership program for students in grades 3-6, designed to develop critical life skills, foster community connections, and provide meaningful leadership experiences at each grade level. Third grade will focus on the value of first impressions, fourth grade will build on etiquette and confident engagement, and fifth grade will emphasize community service projects. All of this will culminate in an overall leadership and communication competition for sixth grade. We believe this program will empower our students with confidence and the essential skills needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
As your principal, I am deeply committed to building meaningful relationships with our students, families, and community members. I encourage open communication and collaboration as we work together to uphold and enhance the legacy of excellence at Edgerton Elementary.
Your active involvement plays a pivotal role in your child's educational success. Here are some simple yet impactful ways to stay involved:
Talk with your child daily about their school experiences.
Regularly check your child's backpack and planner.
Stay informed by monitoring grades on PowerSchool weekly.
Foster strong study habits at home.
Set high expectations for your child's best efforts.
Celebrate all achievements, big or small.
Attend school events and consider joining our active Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO).
Your partnership is invaluable, and together we can guide each student toward reaching their fullest potential. My door is always open, and I look forward to hearing your ideas, questions, or feedback.
Let's make this a fantastic school year, filled with meaningful learning, exciting growth, and countless opportunities to Excel, Lead, and Serve!
Become Uncommon,
Lucas Smith
