Edgerton High School has several extracurricular organizations. Some of the organizations we have include Spanish Club, Fellowship Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, FFA, Band, Choir, Student Council, Log of E, Quiz Bowl Team and more.
Edgerton also has several sports organizations. Those include cross country, volleyball, cheerleading, golf, football, wrestling, softball, baseball, and track.
Check out the National Honor Society and the FFA pages in the drop down menu for this page.
The Howard Day Chapter of the National Honor Society is founded upon the principles of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Our chapter is named for Mr. Howard Day, a local man who lost his life in World War II. He exemplified the idea of national honor. Mr. Howard Day’s sister and son still provide this organization with a generous donation, made annually to the Edgerton Area Foundation.
To be eligible for our NHS chapter, students must be juniors or seniors and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50. Eligible students apply for membership, and applications are reviewed by a faculty committee. Students are selected to be members based upon the extent to which they display scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Our chapter members participate in the following ways throughout the year:
Planning and participating in the Induction Ceremony
Walking elementary students to the public library for LEGO Club each week
Organizing and working at two Red Cross blood drives that take place at the high school
Raising money for the local Angel Tree by taking part in a Bowl-a-Thon
Planning activities for the whole student body that promote safe driving during the Williams County Buckle Up Bowl
Planning and participating in the high school Academic Awards Ceremony that takes place at the end of the year
Serving at the local free lunch program during the summer
Completing various service projects as needs arise in the school and community
Edgerton High School, as an affiliated chapter of the National Honor Society, specifically forbids the former practice known as the "NHS Kidnapping" or any activities that are suggestive of or could be perceived in any way as hazing or initiation rituals in chapter activities, including the NHS selection process. Beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year, the "NHS Kidnapping" has been replaced with a welcome luncheon for newly selected candidates.
